Pyrite is a sulfide mineral and also known as "fools gold".

Pyrite is a powerful protection stone which shields and protects against all forms of negative vibrations and/or energy  It stimulates the intellect and enhances memory, helping to recall relevant information when needed. Pyrite assists one in seeing behind facades, promoting an understanding of that which lies beneath words and actions. The ancient Incas used Pyrite for meditation and divination.
It can be used in the treatment of bones and in the healing of cell formation. It treats lung disorders and bronchitis and has been used to reduce swelling and fevers. Pyrite aids in the treatment of infective disease, whilst also providing protection from the disease for the caregivers.

Feng Shui Red Envelopes- Prosperity, Luck Happiness

Red envelopes are used to enchance luck, prosperity and happiness. They are also used as protection from inauspicious chi and to prevent negative events from occurring.

Place three coins or bills in an envelope and place them in your prosperity corner, in your wallet,under your front door mat.  Chinese red envelopes are commonly given out during the Chinese New Year, weddings, and birthdays and are considered to be very auspicious gifts. Red symbolizes fire and fire is thought to ward off bad luck. The envelopes themselves often feature various Chinese characters for long life, prosperity, and good health. During the Chinese New Year, they are given out by married couples to small children, teenagers, and single adults.

Tea was accidentally invented in 2737 BC when Chinese Emperor Shen Nung spotted some tea leaves blew into a pot of boiling water and produced a pleasing aroma.

By 1800 England alone was consuming 24 million pounds per annum of tea of every type from white and green to oolong and black, all of it organically grown and hand-made, much of it fit for Emperors and kings. Most tea consumed in England between 1650 and 1850 was green and oolong - not black!

From 1608, when tea first appeared in Europe, in Holland, until around 1850, China, with rare and inconsequential exceptions, was the sole source of all the tea drunk in the Western World.

The English East India company held a monopoly on all China tea exports to the British Isles and Americas for two hundred years.

Black Tourmaline - Rub for luck and happiness

This is powerful stone and a very lucky stone. When the stone is rubbed it becomes charged with magnetic electricity and the luck intensifies. Black tourmaline helps push away negativity.

Lemongrass Tea - Health Benefits

Lemongrass Tea is a refreshing citrus drink which has many health benefits.
It can help aid the digestive track, stop nausea and during times of fever can help cool down the body.
It is also known to reduce cholestral and reduce high blood pressure levels. Used on the outside of the body can be used as an anti-fungal treatment, for example, atheletes foot and arthritis.

As citral is present in Lemongrass and lemon peel it has the advantage of killing off cancerous cells. A study in 2006 found that no normal cells were harmed but the cancerous ones were killed off.

What is the Healing Sanctuary?

The Healing Sanctuary is held at My Sereni-Tea the 3rd Friday of every month.

Having Trouble sleeping? or getting to Sleep?

We have had lots of people come into the shop for a tea to help them sleep?  We offered Spa Relax Tea and the feedback is wonderful.  Spa Relax has Gingko, St John's Wort and Chamomile in it, it taste divine and it relaxes you giving you a good nights rest.

Do you have inflammation of the joints?

What does Rooibos tea do for you?

History of Iced Tea

Did you know?

In 1904 the United States was ready for the world to see her development at teh St Louis World's fair.
Trade exhibitors from around the world brought their products to America's first St. Louis World's Fair.
One merchant was Richard Blechynden, and he owned a tea plantation.. He had planned to give away free samples of hot tea to the visitors at the fair, then a heat wave hit, and no one was interested in hot tea.

So that he did not waste the tea, this merchant added ice into the brewed tea and served the first 'iced tea'.   It was a great success.
